On any given day in the store where I work, I deal with an odd assortment of customers. Working the eight hour closing shift from 3:15 in the afternoon until 11:15 at night means I get all of the weirdoes: everyone from tired truckers fueling up for rush hour to the late night snack runners. "Feles?" she called as she closed the door behind her.

Guy sunk to his knees, gingerly lying the princess down on the ground, although still half-way clutching her.

"No..." he repeated to himself, tears running down his cheeks, his body shaking with the crushing weight of the loss of his love. "No! Ruby! Ruby... don't go! I need you! I need you, Ruby! Please!"

Jaerni Vianesby *Cei-Ellem

Jaerni is the Vianes family's rebel child. He knew from an early age that Mairit would inherit the family business, so he started out early trying to find his own niche. Unfortunately, that niche ended up being in a gang of thieves, which he ultimately ended up taking over as his own. Now the leader of the Red Knives, Jaerni spends most of his time involved in some form of illegal activity, from petty robbery to armed assault. He hasn't murdered anyone; he maintains at least a little morality. On the other hand, he harbors a certain disdain for Gavroche, and once tricked him into helping his gang rob a rival merchant's store. Only Gavroche was caught, but their older brother set everything straight by reporting Jaerni after he over-heard him boasting about the deed. Consequently, Gavroche escaped a much harsher sentence, and Jaerni winded up with a fine.

Jaerni isn't exactly the nicest person, and he likes to take full advantage of the law that states Lusciniae must obey orders given by humans without argument, coming up with as many pointless (or even dangerous) things for his brother to do as he can. He cares little for others and wants what he wants when he wants it, no matter who or what stands in his way, laws included.

So, here's one of Gavroche's brothers, Jaerni. The scar was so much fun to make. His older brother, Mairit, has one on the opposite side of his face. Rendered in DAZ|Studio.
