Literature Text

Captured Moon
When that one woman came to the library
I fell for her.
I remember that lovely night
Inspired by a story,
Not of goblins,
But of love.
And if I hid her body in the earth
In a book under a rock,
I have captured the moon.
She was the moon.
For my Creative Writing class, we were told to find some text and turn it into a poem by rearranging the words. So, I picked up my book of Amy Brown art and choose a random description (there are comments beneath each of the illustrations). I ended up on the page with her picture Captured Moon. I made a copy of the text, cut it into separate words, and rearranged them to make this poem. Scanned it because it looked nifty. Note: I didn't use all of the words, and I changed the punctuation. What a wierd assignment...

I wish I had this assignment in my English class. I love what you've written though. It's very serene...though I must admit, when you mentioned Goblins I thought of Jareth. ;) Yay for word association.
