"Looks like someone left the lights on for us."
They stood in the doorway staring down into the long tunnel that lead into the Crystal Grottoes, electric lanterns lit up and lining the walls. Artemis shifted from one foot to the other. "So, who wants to take lead?"
"Well, you're already up front," Snow chirped with a smirk. "And the only Warden. And the oldest! Since you like to be in charge, why don't you lead us, Artie?"
The other wizard raised an eyebrow and adjusted his glasses. "Or maybe the one with the most to prove should lead us. Wouldn't you like to improve your standing in the White Council, Snow?"
"I'll stand in the middle," Alistair piped in before anyone could call him to take the front. He didn't want to be there in the first place and was perfectly alright surrounding himself with other targets.
"And don't look at me," Parker drawled. "I think I've got most of my senses back, but do we really want to test m

"Did we fall down the rabbit hole or something?"
Snow eyed the cat as suspiciously as the rest of them, not particularly comfortable with his sudden appearance. No one answered her question, but Guy (human and freshly dressed) was bold enough to get closer and sniff the air.
"You aren't a were," he said, wrinkling his nose. "Besides the fact that a were wouldn't be able to talk in animal form, you don't smell like one. Actually..." He sniffed again. "You smell a little like Snow."
"And what brings the fae to our encampment?" Artemis drawled, completely unimpressed. "Nothing for our benefit, I'm sure."
"Ooh, clever Warden aren't you?" the cat drawled right in return, grinning at him while his ears folded back. "I already told you I'm here to help."
"Help from the fae is rarely helpful, and even less frequently free."
"Is that so, Warden? Is that what your mother used to tell you before she tucked you snug into bed, after a warm glass of milk and a kiss

I think the implication that I can use his Name should be enough...
"I can." Nathan raised his hand slightly, eying Micah worriedly. "At least, if my understanding of True Names is correct, I could technically demand you show them and you'd have to."
The angel shot him and angry glare, gold eyes glowing brilliantly, but there was fear on his face at the very suggestion. "I shared that with you because of dire circumstances, not so you could abuse that power..."
"I would hardly call checking on your well-being an abuse of power," Gabriel said, folding his arms, unable to hide the slight smirk on his face. "Especially since he gave you the courtesy of reminding you he could, rather than just flat-out using it." He gave Nathan a glance. "I would have been a bit uncomfortable if you'd done that."
"I really don't want to," the writer admitted, looking down at the floor to avoid Micah's stare. "But Gabriel has a point. You never outright denied

In the meantime while they waited for Alistair to wake up, Parker, Snow, Guy and Artemis had done their parts to get ready for the trip to Boonsboro. Well, Artemis mostly complained about them wanting to "go camping," as he put it, until Parker went off on him, pointing out the obvious: the sun would set well before they arrived at the remnants of the city, and they would need all the rest they could get. Since waiting till morning wasn't an option, camping was the way to go. The Warden simply didn't argue after that.
Guy gathered scraps from the area and built a cart he could tow behind him in cheetah form. It would lighten the load for them in general, and allow them to carry anyone who was injured, if it came to that. He tried to convince Snow to let him dismantle her motorcycle for a motor to run it, instead of pulling it himself. Her response: a gun pointed at his head and narrowed eyes, along with the warning, "Try it. See what happens
