Nathan gave her a thin frown. "He's been badly injured," he explained. "And I think for now it'd be better just for people he knows to visit. I don't know what kind of shape he's in."

The photographer pouted and sighed, but nodded in resignation. "Okay," she breathed. "I'll just... wait for Scott in the lobby." Susan gave him a tentative smile. "It was nice meeting you, Nathan." They exchanged brief farewell waves before she left down the hall.

Nathan wondered how much of his scant ten minutes he had lost talking to her as he entered Alton's room.

"Well, at least one of us is mobile."

Nathan couldn't help but smile as he lifted his good shoulder. "Sure," he agreed. "Why not? Like you said, I've been through Hell and back. Might as well get something out of it, right?"

Scott laughed and rolled his eyes, but nodded. "My thoughts exactly. If you're up to it, I've already got a few questions jotted down in my notepad. I was prepared, you know, just in case..."

It's possible. I suck at short hair, so I always draw with a ref for it.

Yep. That's what I used as a reference, because I couldn't find a good short hairstyle that I liked
